The water cove is not accessible but there is a Power Star attached to the eel's tail. In later missions, Unagi circles the previous location of the sunken ship. The only difference between Goombas is that they give three Coins instead of just one.
Bookends possess sharp teeth and disguise themselves as regular books within a bookshelf in Big Boo's Haunt. They hop out to attack MArio and friends if they get close enough. The other type flies quickly from one shelf to the other trying to attack Mario and friends.

The only way to permanently destroy a Dry Bones is by using a Rainbow Star. Cheep Cheep. Cheep Cheeps are slow-moving fish that roam around aimlessly, and thus don't tend to attack Mario and friends at all. However, if the hero touches one, he will be damaged, thus losing health.
They can only be defeated by using Waluigi's Power Flower power underwater. There are only two Cheep Cheeps in the game. Deep Cheep. Deep Cheeps are green-colored variations of Cheep Cheeps that, rather than swimming aimlessly at all times, will follow Mario and friends if they get too close.
Deep Cheeps will stop following them once they get away from their range of vision. There is only one Deep Cheep in the game. Cheep Chomp.
Cheep Chomps are purple Cheep Cheeps that are bigger than usual. They replace Boss Bass from the original game and the DS remake, having the exact same behavior. They aim in on the player character with their mouth wide open, attempting to eat them.
If a character is eaten, that character will lose a life, regardless of their current health. Only two appear in the game, in Tiny-Huge Island, and only the one closest to the course's entrance can be defeated, with a Mega Mushroom. Hammer Bro. Hammer Bros. They hop up and down in place, throwing hammers in the player's direction. They can be defeated by either jumping on them twice, or once with a Ground Pound.
Wario can defeat them instantly with a punch. Yoshi is also able to eat their hammers and spit them out back at them. Fire Bro. Fire Bros. Other than that, they behave the same. Only two Fire Bros. Additionally, Yoshi can spew fire after eating a Fire Bro. Boulders endlessly roll down a slope and into a bottomless pit in Hazy Maze Cave, and in circles in one of Star Blitz Galaxy's planets.

They hang still on the ceiling waiting for the player to come, then fall off the ceiling and flutter in place briefly before dashing towards its victim. It can be defeated with any attack. Monty Mole. Monty Moles throw rocks at Mario and friends and then burrow underground. Theyr're slightly more common in this game, now also appearing in Wingo Tussle and Pipeline Palace. Technically, Monty Moles cannot be defeated, as they will respawn from their holes soon after being hit with a Mega Mushroom, Rainbow Star or Power Flowers like Waluigi's.
Shy Guy. Shy Guys roam around freely, and similarly to Goombas, will try to ram into the player character. However, after doing so, failing or not they will quickly flee and avoid the player until they leave them alone. Their attack method repeats once they draw closer again. Shy Guys need to be jumped on twice or ground pounded once to be defeated. Wario can defeat them with one jump, and Toad can defeat them instantly with a roll.
Fly Guy. Fly Guys are Shy Guys with propellers on their heads, which allow them to fly around. They are much more common than their land counterparts.
Additionally, Fly Guys are capable of spitting fireballs at the player characters, as well as diving at them to attack. If players stomp a Fly Guy, they will Spin Jump high up into the air. This allows them to reach high places. When swallowed by Yoshi, they provide him with a burst of fire to spit. Snufits are extremely rare enemies, being ghostly floating cousins of the Snifits that appear only in Hazy Maze Cave.
When the player character comes too close to one, it will shoot a burst of small balls out of its mouth like a Snifit. Snufits can be defeated by simply jumping on them. Bullies are horned metallic creatures that usually reside on platforms, occasionally in groups. To attack, Bullies charge themselves into their enemies in order to push them over ledges, knocking their enemies into lava or bottomless pits.
The only way for the hero to beat a Bully is to push it into the lava. After being melted, a Coin will be tossed up to the platform that the creature was pushed off from. Chill Bullies are literally Bullies encased in ice.
They behave exactly the same, trying to push the player over ledges to knock them into bottomless pits. As such, the method to defeat them is the same as with Bullies. The only differences are their icy bodies and their single horn, rather than having two horns.
Lava Bubbles jump out of the lava horizontally and bounce on the land, then they come back to the lava. They are indestructible, and if the hero touches one, it causes him to uncontrollably run damaged, like all other fiery enemies or obstacles.
In the battle with Bowser in Bowser in the Sky, he spits some blue fireballs that turn into Lava Bubbles which immediately bounce towards the player. They disappear after a few seconds. Yoshi can also eat a Lava Bubble, causing him to spit out fire. Flame Chomp. Flame Chomps are fiery variants of the Chain Chomp.
There are two types of Flame Chomps in the game: the tail-less ones that remain motionless and shoot a flame at the player when they approach, and the tailed ones that shoot fireballs from their tail, and eventually explode after running out of fireballs.
The latter can be stomped, while the motionless ones are almost unbeatable except for Yoshi's capability to eat them and spit out fire afterwards. Grindels are mummified Thwomps, with a pair of small round eyes and a grin on their faces. They only appear inside of the Pyramid of Shifting Sand Land. They attack the same way as a Thwomp, floating up in the air vertically and fall over the ground, squashing anybody below them.
Grindels can also move horizontally by "jumping" back and forth. Spindel is a cylindrical creature made of stone that continuously rolls over the same stretch of territory. It is similar in appearance to Grindels. It appears only in the Pyramid of Shifting Sand Land, where it can be found rolling back and forth in one section of the pyramid.
There is a safe spot where the player can hide to avoid being squished. Kleptos are condors that have a tendency to steal. One of them is seen holding one of the Power Stars in Shifting Sand Land, so the hero must reclaim it from his talons. The player can attack the bird, knocking him out for a short period of time. The Klepto eventually regains his senses, and after losing the Power Star, he attempts to steal the hero's cap in Yoshi's case, damage him.
Pokeys are cactus creatures that wander around aimlessly and slowly follow the player character if too close. The player can destroy each body segment with a punch, kick or by throwing a Bob-omb at it; attacking the head defeats it and causes the whole body to instantly disappear. If the player waits too long after destroying any of its segments, the Pokey will grow them right back.
They give Blue Coins when defeated. Yoshi can eat its segments, and Toad is unable to destroy it with his roll. Tox Box. Tox Boxes are stone boxes with multiple faces that attack by attempting to flatten the player character, by rolling over him. They often travel in small set pathways. Tox Boxes have faces on all but one side; the last side is only a square hole. This hole is for the character to stand in as the Tox Box passes over the tile he's standing on, thus letting him survive without being crushed.
If Wario is inside one of them and punches or jumps , the Tox Box will fly somewhere into the sand and sink or stay still if it's solid ground. Magikoopas are bespectacled Koopas that use magic to attack. They can either conjure up enemies Goombas and Bob-ombs or fireballs.
They can also teleport around. They can be defeated by stomping them. Oddly enough, if Yoshi eats them, he gets the ability to use an ice breath. Skeeters are giant pond skater-like bugs that float on top of the water aimlessly. In Wet-Dry World, they can be lowered onto a platform. When they see the player character, they will get mad for him taking them off the water, and will try to home in on him.
