Battlestar what was starbuck

For four months Starbuck denies his advances, killing him several times despite knowing he would be back. Then she is presented with a young girl named Kacey that Leoben claims is their daughter, created with the ovary removed when she was in the egg farm.

Initially she refuses to believe it and wants nothing to do with the girl, but when Kacey is badly injured in a fall down a staircase, she calls on Leoben for help and seems to grow more attached to both of them.

During the uprising on New Caprica, however, Starbuck once again kills Leoben and escapes with Kacey. Kacey and her real mother are reunited on the Galactica' s flight deck after the flight from New Caprica. Starbuck is left there alone on the flight deck, stunned and in disbelief.

After her situation on New Caprica and the truth about Kacey, she is left simmering with rage, which causes her to be reckless and destructive, almost killing herself in a Viper training exercise. After being removed from flight status by then-Major Lee Adama, she takes up residence in the pilot's mess along with Colonel Tigh, drinking and lowering the morale of Galactica' s pilots by attempting to draw divisions between New Capricans and those who stayed with the fleet.

Admiral Adama gives her an ultimatum; either straighten up and act like an officer, or 'get the hell off his ship' and find another ship to live on. Starbuck changes her attitude after Adama literally knocks her to the ground after she thumbs her nose at him. Starbuck's relationship with Lee Adama takes another dramatic turn after she angrily challenges him to a brutal and emotional boxing match aboard Galactica.

Their intense feelings for each other soon lead to an affair drawing resentment from their respective spouses. However, when Lee asks Starbuck to divorce Sam, she refuses due to her strong religious beliefs on the sacrament of marriage. Lee argues she is breaking her vows just by being with him, but Starbuck states she's merely bending the rules. Lee then decides he can no longer cheat while still married to Dualla.

Later, Lee and Anders begin to voice their dislike for each other just as Starbuck's Raptor is shot down by the Cylons and she is reported missing. Anders vows to find her, but their position is outnumbered; Lee orders Anders at gunpoint to stay put and help defend their outnumbered position. Anders remains defiant. Starbuck suffers severe hand burns in the crash and is rescued by Dualla.

After they escape the doomed algae planet, Starbuck makes one final effort to have a relationship with Lee, this time offering to leave Anders if he will leave Dualla.

Lee chooses to try to make his own marriage work instead. Kara's experiences with Leoben, as well as her troubled childhood, eventually come back to haunt her. She has nightmares involving both Leoben and the mandala supposedly connected to her "destiny".

She asks an oracle about her dreams and is told Leoben understands her better than she understands herself, and he will show her "destiny. During a patrol over a gas giant where the fleet is refueling, she sees a Cylon Raider and pursues it into a storm system which resembles her mandala. She is forced to abandon pursuit when her Viper is at risk of implosion from the pressure. Although she felt several impacts during her pursuit, then- Chief Galen Tyrol finds no damage to her Viper and gun camera footage showed no evidence of any Raider, leading many to believe Kara had been hallucinating.

Adama is concerned Kara might have burned out, but he leaves the decision to ground her up to Apollo as CAG. Apollo decides to give her another chance, and offers to fly as her wingman on her next patrol. During the patrol, Starbuck sees another Raider and again pursues. Her Viper is hit by debris and she is knocked out.

She experiences a conversation with Messenger with the appearance of Leoben set in her apartment on Caprica. The avatar forces Kara to confront her past, the abuse she received from her mother and the guilt she feels for leaving her mother to die alone. The avatar comments Kara has been running from her past just as she has been running away from death for her entire life, and implies eventually she will have to confront her fears and her "destiny".

Moments before regaining consciousness in her Viper, Kara realizes the person she is speaking to is not the Cylon Leoben Conoy, and states, "You're not Leoben. From early in her life, Kara Thrace has been guided through her mother's actions for a special role in life, a plot point that begins with a Leoben Conoy copy in the Season 1 episode, " Flesh and Bone ".

In " Maelstrom ", the character dies, but reappears as a guide for the Fleet at the end of Season 3. A Cylon Hybrid , speaking to Major Kendra Shaw moments before their deaths, warns her that Thrace is the herald of the apocalypse and the harbinger of death, that she would lead the human race to its end, and that she is not to be followed Razor. Similarly, another Hybrid describes her as the harbinger of death, and she would lead them to salvation and destruction Faith. This becomes the case, as she leads Galactica and the Fleet to a second, new planet the Colonials dub "Earth.

However, as they blend in with the native humans on the new Earth, the distinctive natures of Colonial human and Cylon creations blur and merge. Apollo had to get back to warn the fleet. Lieutenant Starbuck was a young womaniser which would get the better of him. At the start of the series, he was in a relationship with Lieutenant Athena. Lieutenant Athena was a bridge officer who would later become a teacher.

Lieutenant Athena was the sister of Capt. Apollo and daughter of Commander Adama. He quickly moves on from her to Cassiopeia. When Starbuck was ordered to check out one of the survivor ships, he came across Cassiopeia, a blonde socialite from the planet of Gemenon. Lieutenant Starbuck promised to get her away from the ship to better quarters and lived up to it. Before Starbuck has ended his relationship with Athena, Lt Athena catches him with Cassiopeia and makes it a little difficult for him.

Although first introduced as a socialite in the opening episodes, Cassiopeia become a medical expert. When a Colonial team attack the Cylon installation on Gamoray, Cassiopeia assists and takes part in the operation. Before Lieutenant Athena and Cassiopeia, there was Aurora, a young brunette. When the war happened, Starbuck believed he had lost Aurora and that she was dead. He tried in vain to find her but failed to succeed.

There, he strikes a friendship with Baltar's subordinate Lucifer despite being enemies. Starbuck is soon released, and then informs Apollo that the basestar he is freed from is just outside their sensor range.

He leads the female warriors into battle but they are soon joined by the male warriors as they defend Kobol. Starbuck and one of the female pilots, Deitra, return to the planet just in time to witness Apollo, Adama and Serina coming out of the tombs but Serina soon winds up mortally wounded despite the warriors returning fire. Back on the Galactica , Starbuck offers to watch Muffit so that Serina's young son Boxey can say goodbye to his dying mother.

Starbuck and Boomer offered Boxey to spend the night with them in the Bachelor Officer's Quarters where they play pyramid using some candy, then launch to rescue the stranded Apollo as soon as Boxey had to go to bed.

Sometime after, Starbuck has volunteered to test a new prototype Viper fitted for extended-range reconnaissance and soon embarks on his mission after spending some time juggling between Athena and Cassiopeia aboard the Rising Star. The ship is also equipped with a flirtatious computer called CORA. Running recon ahead of the fleet, Starbuck encounters an old starfighter chasing a small cargo shuttle. Starbuck intervenes by distracting the fighter so that the shuttle can escape. The fighter breaks off and Starbuck follows the shuttle to a nearby world where he discovers the pilot is a smuggler hauling crates of ambrosia — a very expensive beverage and a favorite of Starbucks.

While Starbuck admires the drink, the shuttle pilot strikes him from behind and knocks him out. The Smuggler then steals the Viper. Starbuck regains consciousness, and seeing his Viper gone, takes off in the smuggler's shuttle.

Upon reaching orbit, he is attacked by the same fighter he drove off earlier. The fighter pilot calls him "Robber", but Starbuck eventually convinces him that he is not the man he thinks he is. The fighter orders Starbuck to follow him to a nearby planet. Upon landing, guards inspect the shuttle and find the ambrosia.

They arrest Starbuck for bootlegging despite his pleas of innocence.
