Why does bmw recommend bp

I am really surprised that Mobil isn't on the Top Tier list. Exxon Mobile fuel. Never had a problem in my two prior cars.

The non-brand skanky-looking independent gas station about a mile from my house rebranded as BP within the last few weeks. They put up a sign and a green banner, but it still looks as skanky as before. I'm gonna keep passing them by and hit the Shell. Brigadier General.
